Cheapest prop firms by listed fee
How we compare listed prop firm fees
We read the official firm pages in October 2026 and compare fees at face value, not promotional checkout prices. Breakout Turbo has the lowest entry fee among the published listings: $20 one-time for a 5K account, as listed in October 2026. It has a 9% profit target and a 3% static maximum loss limit. Static means the loss floor stays fixed relative to the starting balance.
Other low-entry fees, as listed in October 2026, include The5ers Bootcamp at $22 for 20K, Breakout Pro at $33 one-time for 5K, FundingPips 2 Step Flex at $39 for 5K, Breakout Classic at $45 one-time for 5K, and E8 One at $48 one-time for 5K. Bootcamp requires a remaining payment after success. The FundingPips pages do not state the billing frequency for Flex.
Account size and billing model change the comparison. As listed in October 2026, Topstep Standard costs $49 per month for 50K, FundedNext Stellar 2-Step costs $59.99 one-time for 6K, and Alpha Futures Zero starts at $89 per month for 25K. These are entry prices, not equivalent total costs or loss allowances.
Challenges are paid evaluations on simulated accounts. Most traders do not pass, and the fee is usually lost when they fail. Funded accounts are also simulated at most firms. A low purchase price limits your initial outlay; it does not make an account easy to pass.
Sorted by lowest listed fee, unknown fees last. Monthly fees are compared per month. This order is arithmetic, not a paid placement.

What you pay now and after passing
A one-time fee avoids recurring evaluation billing, but it does not automatically mean unlimited time or free activation. Breakout Classic, Pro and Turbo have no time limit or additional activation fee. E8 One also has no activation fee. Breakout offers a checkout upgrade from an 80% trader share to 90%, so check the price of your chosen configuration.
Monthly plans charge by billing period. As listed in October 2026, Topstep's 50K Standard Path costs $49 per month and adds $149 activation once per Express Funded Account earned. Its 50K No Activation Fee Path costs $95 per month with no activation charge after passing. The lower monthly price is not necessarily the lower total cost.
As listed in October 2026, Alpha Futures Standard costs $129 per month for 50K, while Zero costs $139 per month for 50K. Zero explicitly has no activation fee. The pages we read do not state Standard's activation charge. Both have no evaluation time limit, but monthly billing still applies.
The5ers Bootcamp separates entry from the remaining payment due upon success. Its $22 entry fee for 20K, as listed in October 2026, is not the full program cost. Topstep Labs uses a different model: its 25K Static Combine costs $75 one-time, as listed in October 2026, with free funded activation and a 90-day lifespan.
Refunds do not cover every failed attempt
Breakout evaluation fees become non-refundable once trading begins, regardless of outcome. FundingPips says fees are non-refundable once paid, except where applicable law requires otherwise. E8 Markets says all fees are non-refundable under its terms. Topstep says most fees are non-refundable; that does not establish a general refund entitlement.
The5ers' futures policy refunds the evaluation fee after the third payout. It also quotes a $59 one-time evaluation fee, as listed in October 2026, although the Futures Day Trade account-size listings did not show fees. Confirm the applicable account and price. Do not apply that futures refund policy to Bootcamp or Hyper Growth.
FundedNext says Stellar Instant's purchase price is never refunded. The pages we read do not state refund policies for Stellar 2-Step, Flex or Alpha Futures. A policy for one program does not establish the treatment of another.
The pages we read do not state reset prices or reset billing terms. Before paying, confirm whether you can restart a failed evaluation, what that costs, and whether restarting changes a subscription's billing date. Do not treat a reset as a refund.
Check the full cost before choosing
- Match account size and market first. A 5K crypto evaluation and a 50K futures evaluation are not equivalent because their entry fees are close.
- Record the billing frequency. Separate one-time fees from monthly subscriptions; FundingPips Flex's frequency is not stated in the pages we read.
- Include payment after passing. Topstep Standard adds activation, Bootcamp requires a remaining fee, and Breakout and E8 One state no activation fee.
- Budget for recurring billing if you need more time. Alpha Futures' lack of an evaluation time limit does not remove its monthly fee.
- Read the loss floor. Breakout Turbo allows 3% static maximum loss. Topstep's regular Combine floor rises with end-of-day gains, never moves down, and locks at the starting balance.
- Check add-ons against your trading style. FundingPips Master accounts require the Swing add-on for overnight and weekend holding; its price is not stated.
- Confirm reset and refund terms separately. Do not count on a refund after failure or assume an unstated reset is free.
- Check minimum days, consistency rules and expiration. These may require more trading after reaching a target or limit your attempt's lifespan.
Questions people ask
Which prop firm has the lowest listed challenge fee?
Among the published listings, Breakout Turbo has the lowest entry fee at $20 one-time for 5K, as listed in October 2026. It requires 9% profit and allows 3% static maximum loss. The lowest entry price does not mean the easiest evaluation.
Is a monthly prop firm challenge cheaper than a one-time fee?
It depends on how long you remain in evaluation and whether activation costs extra. Topstep Standard's 50K plan costs $49 per month plus $149 activation, as listed in October 2026. Compare all billed months and payments after passing.
Do prop firms refund challenge fees?
Refund terms vary by program. The5ers' futures policy refunds the evaluation fee after the third payout, while Breakout fees become non-refundable once trading begins and E8 fees are non-refundable under its terms. FundingPips allows exceptions where applicable law requires them.
How much does a prop firm challenge reset cost?
The published firm pages do not state reset prices or billing terms. Confirm both before budgeting for another attempt. For monthly plans, also ask whether a reset affects the next billing date.
