Forex prop firms compared

How we compare forex prop firms

This list includes firms whose own pages name forex among their markets: FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers, FundingPips, and E8 Markets. We read their official pages in October 2026. Inclusion means the firm lists forex, not that every program it sells is a forex challenge. Keep the market, program, and account size together when comparing rules.

The order follows the listed entry fee, not paid placement. Among the dollar-denominated entry fees, The5ers Bootcamp lists $22 for a 20K account, FundingPips 2 Step Flex lists $39 for 5K, E8 One lists $48 for 5K, and FundedNext Stellar 2-Step lists $59.99 for 6K, as listed in October 2026. FTMO's 10K two-step fee is €89, as listed in October 2026. We keep that euro fee separate rather than assume an exchange rate.

These are not equal-size or equal-stage comparisons. Bootcamp has a remaining fee payable upon success, while E8 One lists no activation fee. A lower entry fee can come with more evaluation steps or different loss rules. Compare the same account size where fees are available, then check the exact program before paying.

Sorted by lowest listed fee, unknown fees last. Monthly fees are compared per month. This order is arithmetic, not a paid placement.

    Payout
    Bi-weekly (stated)

The5ers makes the daily-loss consequence program-specific. High Stakes ends the account at its 5% daily limit; Hyper Growth pauses trading at 3% without closing the account. Bootcamp has no daily pause during evaluation, but each step has a 5% maximum loss limit. Its 20K entry fee is $22, as listed in October 2026, with the remaining fee due upon success. That suits a low-entry-fee shortlist, not a total-cost comparison.

FundingPips 2 Step Flex lists a 5K fee of $39, as listed in October 2026, with a 4% daily limit and a static 12% maximum loss limit. Its homepage lists targets of 10% and 8%. The wider overall limit does not remove trading restrictions: purposely trading news leads to account closure. Master accounts need the Swing add-on for overnight and weekend holding, which matters if your forex positions span sessions.

E8 One lists a 5K fee of $48, as listed in October 2026, and no activation fee. Its selected-account display gives a $9,000 target, $4,000 daily drawdown, and $6,000 dynamic drawdown; those figures should not be assigned to the 5K account without confirmation. E8 One has a 40% best-day rule, while E8 Pro lists static drawdown and no consistency rules. News and weekend permissions are not stated on the pages we read.

FundedNext Stellar 2-Step lists a 6K fee of $59.99, as listed in October 2026. It combines 8% and 5% targets with a 5% daily limit and static 10% maximum loss limit. Stellar Instant instead has no daily limit but a 6% trailing floor capped at the initial balance. Instant allows weekend holding with swaps, yet its news rule credits only 40% of qualifying profits and counts losses fully. Do not assume those permissions apply to Stellar 2-Step.

FTMO's 10K two-step fee is €89, as listed in October 2026. Two-step provides a static 10% maximum loss limit and 5% daily limit; one-step keeps the 10% maximum loss amount but uses end-of-day trailing drawdown and a 3% daily limit. One-step also has a 50% best-day rule. Traders who want a fixed floor need to distinguish the programs. One-step fees and weekend holding permissions are not stated on the pages we read.

Which rules separate forex prop firms

Shortlist by the loss rules before comparing the advertised profit share. A daily limit controls losses within a day; the overall loss floor is the account level you must not breach. A static floor stays fixed relative to the starting balance. A trailing floor moves upward as the account gains, so earlier profits can change the room available for later losses.

  • One-step versus two-step: FTMO's one-step challenge has a 10% profit target, a 3% daily loss limit, and an end-of-day trailing floor. Its two-step challenge has a 10% Challenge target, a lower Verification target, a 5% daily limit, and a static floor. Fewer phases do not mean more loss room. Compare both programs' daily limits and floor mechanics before treating speed as the deciding factor.
  • Daily loss limit: The5ers High Stakes terminates the account immediately when you reach its 5% daily loss limit. Hyper Growth instead uses a 3% daily pause that suspends trading for the session without closing the account. Traders who want a pause rather than immediate termination need to distinguish these programs; neither removes the separate overall loss limit.
  • Static versus trailing floor: FundedNext Stellar 2-Step has a static 10% maximum loss limit. Stellar Instant has a 6% trailing maximum loss limit that follows the highest recorded balance and stops at the initial balance. E8 Zero's challenge floor updates at the end of the day and can move beyond the initial balance. These lock points matter when profits are followed by losses: do not assume every trailing floor stops at your starting balance.
  • News rules: FundingPips prohibits purposely trading news in evaluation and Master phases, with account closure as the consequence. The5ers High Stakes prohibits execution within 2 minutes before or after high-impact news. FundedNext Stellar Instant counts only 40% of profits from correlated-pair trades within 5 minutes before or after high-impact news, while losses count fully. These restrictions hurt strategies built around scheduled announcements.
  • Weekend and overnight holding: FundedNext Stellar Instant permits both, with swap charges. FundingPips Master accounts require the Swing add-on for overnight and weekend holding on the listed Flex, Standard, and Pro programs; otherwise, the system automatically closes open trades. FTMO's and E8 Markets' pages do not state weekend holding rules in the material we read. Do not interpret missing wording as permission.
  • Payout timing: FundedNext lists a first withdrawal after 21 days and subsequent withdrawals after 14 days. FundingPips 2 Step Pro lists weekly reward requests every 7 calendar days after the first Master trade, with an 80% split. E8 Markets says USD wire and ACH payments are processed within 7 days. Processing time is not the same as the date you first become eligible to request a payout.

What to check before paying

A challenge is a paid evaluation on a simulated account. Many traders lose the fee when they fail; passing does not mean you receive the advertised account balance as cash. Funded accounts are also simulated at most firms. Compare fees you can afford to lose, not income you expect a challenge to produce.

Check the exact configuration again before checkout. FundingPips 2 Step Standard offers either a 3% or 5% daily loss limit, and the minimum-day requirement changes with that choice. The rules below were checked in October 2026; confirm the firm's current terms rather than assume the checkout version is unchanged.

  • Match the fee to the full route. The5ers Bootcamp's $22 entry fee for 20K, as listed in October 2026, is not the complete cost: the remaining fee is payable upon success. FTMO refunds the two-step fee only with the first reward withdrawal after passing. FundingPips program fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • Check what the daily limit measures. FundingPips 2 Step Pro sets its 3% daily limit using the higher opening balance or opening equity for that day. FTMO states its two-step 5% daily loss amount as a percentage of initial simulated capital. Do not transfer one firm's calculation to another program.
  • Separate trading days from profitable days. FTMO two-step requires at least 4 trading days. FundedNext Stellar 2-Step requires 5 trading days. The5ers High Stakes requires 3 profitable days per step, each generating at least 0.5% of the initial balance from closed positions. Merely placing a trade does not satisfy that profitable-day definition.
  • Check consistency before relying on a large winning day. FTMO one-step limits the best day to 50% of profitable days' combined profit. E8 One limits a single day to 40% of total generated profits. E8 Pro lists no consistency rules or payout caps, so the E8 One condition should not be applied to E8 Pro.
  • Confirm permissions for automated strategies. FundingPips allows third-party Expert Advisors only as trade or risk managers. The5ers permits EAs but prohibits price-feed and latency exploitation. E8 Markets' pages do not state EA permissions in the material we read, so confirm them before using an automated strategy.
  • Separate payout eligibility, profit share, and payment processing. FundingPips Pro's weekly rewards have an 80% split, while its monthly reward option has a 35% consistency condition that resets after each reward. E8's payment-processing window does not establish first-request eligibility. Confirm when you can request a reward separately from how long the payment takes.

Questions people ask

Is a one-step forex prop challenge easier than a two-step challenge?

Not necessarily: FTMO one-step has a 3% daily loss limit and trailing floor, compared with two-step's 5% daily limit and static floor. FundedNext Stellar 1-Step has a 6% maximum loss limit, compared with Stellar 2-Step's 10%. Compare the loss room and consistency conditions, not just the number of phases.

Which forex prop firms allow weekend holding?

FundedNext Stellar Instant permits overnight and weekend holding, with swap charges. The5ers Hyper Growth lists overnight and weekend holding, while FundingPips' listed Master programs require the Swing add-on. FTMO's and E8 Markets' pages do not state weekend permissions in the material we read.

Can I trade news on a forex prop account?

The answer depends on the program and the action. FundingPips prohibits purposely trading news, The5ers High Stakes prohibits execution within 2 minutes before or after high-impact news, and FTMO forbids gap trading by opening trades around scheduled market-moving news. FundedNext Stellar Instant reduces credited profits on specified correlated-pair trades near high-impact news; E8 Markets' pages do not state a news rule in the material we read.

How soon can I request a prop firm payout?

FundedNext lists the first withdrawal after 21 days and subsequent withdrawals after 14 days. FundingPips 2 Step Pro permits weekly reward requests every 7 calendar days after the first executed Master trade. E8 Markets' stated 7-day window concerns USD wire and ACH processing, not first-request eligibility.
